Ellen Taverner

Ellen Taverner helps build trusted brands and leadership positions for world-class organizations.

She has created and launched revenue-driving marketing programs literally across the globe, working from London, Paris and Silicon Valley. She has served as CMO at two blue-chip law firms, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP and the global firm of Cooley Godward Kronish LLP.


Ellen has held senior marketing positions at such companies as Credit Suisse Asset Management, The Nasdaq Stock Market and Fairchild Semiconductor. As a consultant with KPMG Management Consulting and Regis McKenna Inc., her clients included British Telecom, Motorola, National Semiconductor, Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems, and Texas Instruments.

Ellen works with senior management of financial services organizations and professional services firms on setting and implementing business and marketing strategies, brand positioning, and marketing education programs.

She is currently completing a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology. Ellen earned a B.A. with Highest Honors in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She completed post-graduate work in Systems Management at the University of Southern California and is a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership’s Leadership Development Program.

Ellen is the recipient of six national Legal Marketing Association “Your Honor” awards for marketing innovation and excellence.


Steven Kang

Steve, who honed his critical thinking at Yale University (B.A.) and Columbia University (M.B.A.), is an accomplished marketing, advertising and travel industry executive in the US and Asia.

He has both strategic and hands-on experience building brands around the world for Proctor & Gamble, American Airlines, leading cruise lines such as Holland America and Sitmar, United Airlines, worldwide tour operator Maupintour and the Hong Kong Tourism Board.


Steve began his career as one of the “Mad Men” of Madison Avenue, working for such storied advertising agencies as DDB and Foote, Cone & Belding.

His entrepreneurial ventures include founding iTravel, a software company producing travel guides and the Global Consulting Group providing marketing, Internet campaigns and web services to travel and tourism companies.

He also was Vice President, Marketing and Sales of Holland America Line-Westours and Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales of Society Expeditions. Steve has extensive experience managing tour operations, as President of Maupintour, Inc., as well as Executive Vice President of Marketing & Sales of independent tour operator, Global Leisure Travel.

Most recently, Steve was the Managing Director of Somhansar Company Limited, a luxury hotel development company located in Bangkok, Thailand.

When he is not on business in Asia, he enjoys the beauty of the Pacific Northwest from his home in Seattle, Washington.


Carol Firenze Anglin

Carol brings a personal and unique focus to the BrandingPays team. As a business owner in the specialty food industry and as an experienced management consultant in a variety of industries, she offers first-hand insight into the strategic and practical application of the BrandingPays methodology.

She draws upon varied disciplines, including marketing communications, project management, change management and performance improvement to set program goals, define success measures and develop tactical plans.


Carol has held executive management consulting positions at Gemini Consulting, GroupWorX LLP and IBM. Her clients included Intel, Hewlett Packard, Apple, Monsanto, Clorox, and Miller Brewery. In addition to consulting with clients, Carol also served as a key internal instructor for training new consultants on methodology, processes and interpersonal relations. International management consulting offered Carol an opportunity to live and work in several countries including England, Saudi Arabia, France and Italy and to travel extensively.

During a sabbatical year, Carol followed her interests to create her company, The Passionate Olive and a popular book on olive oil. She is considered an expert in olive oil, has launched her own iPhone/iPad app and offers lectures worldwide.

When asked by Karen Kang to become part of the BrandingPays team, Carol was intrigued by the concise, practical step-by-step methodology. Carol embraced the training and applied the branding method to her own company. With her own user experience, Carol now imparts the BrandingPays methodology to companies and individuals.

Carol received her Ph.D. in Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco. She holds an M.A. degree in Administration and a B.A degree in Social Science.
